Re-live the Autoglass Trophy Final as Huddersfield Town faced Swansea City

Huddersfield Town supporters’ long wait to see the Terriers at Wembley Stadium was finally over as Neil Warnock guided Town to the Autoglass Trophy Final in 1994.
56 years since Town’s last visit the national stadium – an FA Cup Final against Preston North End in 1938 – the Terriers were finally back.
Neil Warnock worked his magic with our team of 1993/94, much like he did with our Terriers this season, and took Town to Wembley to face Swansea City.
Despite the success in the Autoglass Trophy not being a main priority of Warnock and his players, as the cup run continued to build and a chance to play at Wembley was on the horizon, they became more determined than ever to reach the Final.
After seven long games of the Autoglass Trophy campaign, a 4-3 aggregate win over Carlisle United secured Town’s spot at Wembley, which re-energised the fans’ love for football.
As tickets went on sale, supporters queued in horrible weather conditions for up to four hours to get a ticket to see Warnock’s side at Wembley.
Around 27,000 Town supporters fled to the stand of Wembley Stadium to support the Gaffer and his Terriers, but unfortunately, they didn’t get off to the best start.
After just eight minutes, Swansea’s Andrew McFarlane latched on to a long ball over the top, rounded the keeper and placed the ball into the back of the net.
However, on the hour mark, Warnock’s side fought back – Richard Logan was on hand to head Phil Starbuck’s corner into the back of the net and equalise.
Despite chances falling for both sides, nobody could find the winning goal.
The match went to penalties and unfortunately Town were beaten. Graham Mitchell, Phil Starbuck and Tom Cowan all missed their spot kicks.
However, this day brought energy and excitement to Town fans, brought a new generation to the Club and gave everyone a trip they wouldn't forget.
