Central midfielder Scott is one of the longest-serving scholars at the Club, having joined the Academy at Under-9 level from junior football in Penistone.

Based in Sheffield, he first featured for the Under-18s as a schoolboy, making two starts and five substitute appearances.

His 2017/18 campaign was a tremendous success, with further appearances for the Under-18 side quickly seeing Scott progress to a key role in the Under-23s as a midfield playmaker.

2018/19 saw Scott establish himself as the captain of Town's Under-19 side, when he made nearly 50 appearances in the season - scoring seven times. His form, as well as his demeanor off the pitch, saw him named the Club's Academy Player of the Year at the end of the campaign.

Scott progressed again in 2019/20, stepping into the First Team squad when the opportunity arose. He was an unused sub for Danny Cowley's side on five occasions at the turn of the year, having signed a new long-term contract in the summer.

He also played his first senior football on loan at Vanarama National League South side Concord Rangers, impressing during six appearances.

2020/21 saw High go on a loan spell to Shrewsbury, where he made 12 Sky Bet League One appearances before he returned to Town and made a further 14 appearances.

Scott made 23 appearances and created one assist during the 2021/22 season with the Town in the Sky Bet Championship in the run-up to reach the Play-Off Final against Nottingham Forest.

Going back on loan to gain regular senior footbal experience, High went to Rotherham United at the beginning of the season and made 13 appearances before returning to Town in January and making a further nine appearances in the Sky Bet Championship.
