LOAN: JORDY HIWULA JOINS BRADFORD CITY

15 July 2016

Attacker to gain further First Team experience

- Jordy Hiwula joins Bradford City on loan
- 21 year-old striker departs for the season
- Comments from Head Coach David Wagner

Huddersfield Town’s Jordy Hiwula has today joined Sky Bet League 1 side Bradford City on a Standard Loan for the 2016/17 season.

The 21 year-old, who plays predominantly as a centre forward but can also deployed out wide, joined ‘The Yorkshire Club’ in July 2015 on a contract running until 30 June 2018, with the Club having the option of a further season.

To date, his solitary competitive appearance for Town’s First Team came as a 65th minute substitute in the Capital One Cup game against Notts County in 2015/16.

He has gained further experience through two loan spells last season, playing 16 games for Wigan Athletic in the first half of last season before finishing the campaign with another 16 games for Walsall – all in Sky Bet League 1.

As per the terms of the loan, there is a recall available during January 2016.

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner explained:

“This is the correct move for the Club and Jordy at this time, as it is very important he plays regular football at a good level.

“Jordy has good experience in Sky Bet League 1 already, but now it is important he takes the next step and plays regularly for a full season.

“Bradford is ideal for the Club as it is very near and we will monitor his performances very closely at this important time.”
