LOAN WATCH - TEN PLAYERS IN WEEKEND ACTION
Ten of Town's loaned-out squad members played for their respective clubs over the weekend.
Defender Andy Butler was an unused substitute for Championship side Blackpool during their 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Leicester City, but Lionel Ainsworth finally made his Brentford debut as a 74th minute substitute during their 4-0 home drubbing of Gillingham in League One.
Meanwhile, Oldham Athletic boss Dave Penney heralded the experience and character of Jim Goodwin as one of the reasons that the Latics recorded a 1-0 win at Tranmere Rovers to pull clear of the League One relegation spots on Saturday - the Irishman played another 90 minutes at right-back.
Joe Skarz impressed during another full game for League Two promotion chasers Shrewsbury Town as they recorded a good 1-0 win at Macclesfield Town. 'Skarzy' almost opened his goalscoring account for Paul Simpson's side, but home goalkeeper Dean Brain managed to turn his thirty yard drive around the post late in the first half.
Striker Phil Jevons played the first 77 minutes of Morecambe's 3-2 away defeat at Accrington Stanley, but fellow Town loanee Ian Craney is still out following his operation on damaged ankle ligaments.
Things aren't getting any easier for Grays Athletic or Jack Hunt - he picked up a yellow card as his new side lost their third straight game as Rushden and Diamonds recorded a 3-0 win over them, despite missing a further two penalties! On the plus side, Jack played another ninety minutes to gain more vital experience.
First year professional defender Leigh Franks made his debut for Blue Square North high-flyers Fleetwood Town during an impressive 2-0 away win at Corby Town - a team that Town played in pre-season. He replaced injured defender Shaun Beeley in the 75th minute and helped his new side towards their tenth clean sheet of the season.
Academy striker Jimmy Spencer played 77 minutes of Northwich Victoria's 1-1 draw at Hinckley in the Blue Square North and went close to netting his second goal for the Club, being denied by the goalkeeper late in the first half.
Tom Denton played another 90 minutes for Unibond League Division One North side Wakefield FC during a 1-1 draw against promotion chasing FC Halifax Town - a game in which Lewis Nightingale made his Bears debut as a 74th minute substitute.
Finally, Spencer Harris opened his account for Curzon Ashton - scoring two identical headers from corners during a 3-1 home victory over AFC Fylde in the 17th and 28th minutes.
