RIDGWICK COLLECTS £20K CHEQUE!

20 November 2012

Long serving BWF member hits the jackpot

Stephen Ridgwick, a Blue and White Foundation member since 2005, scooped the £20K jackpot prize at last Thursday’s Draw Night and collected his winning cheque ahead of the Brighton game on Saturday from Town striker Lee Novak!

The long serving BWF member has supported the Club for over seven years and said: “It will give my wife and two daughters a very special holiday, which they haven’t had for a few years!”

Ten runner-up prizes of £500 were won on the night by Stephen Foster, Sarah Brennan x2, Craig Brown, Ian Trearty, Barrie Scarlett, Suzanne Sikorski, John Nelson, Neil Bremner and Edwin Burton.

Six of Huddersfield Town's First Team players were in attendance on Thursday night and were quizzed before the draw took place by Town's Match Day Announcer - and host for the night – Paul Ramsden. Alan Lee, Scott Arfield, Calum Woods, Anton Robinson, Tom Clarke and Matt Crooks all spoke about their time at the Club and current topics within the football world.

Yorkshire cover band Tom Rocks & the Replicants provided the entertainment, singing a variety of songs from over the last couple of decades. The Band played two sets, one prior to the draw and then another to conclude the evening.

Throughout the night Town's Promotions Department ran a raffle with all the proceeds going to the Club’s Academy. Prizes up for grabs included a signed home shirt, signed away shirt by Simon Grayson, signed third kit, signed goalkeeper kit, signed football, signed team photo, signed Wembley montage, signed Gaffer gnome, signed Road to Wembley DVD and a signed End of Season DVD.

Huddersfield Town's Promotions Manager Karen Haigh commented:

"The Blue and White Foundation £20,000 draw was the ninth one we have hosted and probably the best one we have ever done! I would like to pay thanks to our entertainment Tom Rocks & The Replicants who were amazing and to all the BWF members who turned up on the night and supported the Club and our Academy. The function facilities at Canalside were excellent, as were the players who showed their support on the evening.”

She added: "Well done to all the winners, from those who won a signed piece of merchandise to Stephen who scooped the main prize. If you would like to be in with a chance of winning next year's draw all you have to do is become a Blue and White Foundation member, please call 01484 484 146 for more information. The fee is £2 a week and all the proceeds will go towards funding the Club's Academy."
